Redken was founded in 1960 and was built by American actress named Paula Kent. It started when Paula Kent wanted to have high performance hair products that are not irritating and are gentle to the hair. So, Paula Kent teamed up with her hairdresser Jheri Redding and started out with three products that were based on three principles and those principles are protein technology, acidic pH of 4.5 to 5.5 and products that are exclusively recommended by licensed cosmetologists. Fruits of their labor are available for the use of everyone, and these are some examples of those products:

Redken extreme shampoo- key ingredients for this shampoo are proteins, ceramide and natural lipids. Proteins are for the internal strength of the hair, ceramide is for the reinforcement of the hair cuticle for healthier hair growth, and the natural lipids are for the protection of the hair. Those are the key ingredients of the 3D Repair Complex that helps build long-lasting strength making the hair healthier and more manageable. Extreme shampoo also cleanses and conditions the hair.

Extreme Anti-Snap- This is a leave-in treatment that gently smoothes the hair cuticle which helps fortify those hairs that are prone to breaking, splitting or snapping off. This leave-in treatment also helps reduce friction from brushing to help ensure that the hair will not easily break.

Redken Extreme Conditioner- This conditioner must be used after using the Redken Extreme Shampoo for better results. Redken Extreme Conditioner helps in making the hair smooth, detangles hair, and reinforces strength which makes the hair healthier, shiny and supple.

Redken Extreme Deep Fuel- This is a treatment that helps strengthen the hair, restores distressed hairs which will help in the restoration of the hair to its’ natural and healthy state. This treatment also provides repair that would last up to eight shampoos and also provides long-term conditioning. redken acidic bonding
